For thousands of years the first men had struggled heroically to overcome the Dragon Kings — a cruel reptilian race which had ruled the Earth during the Age of Reptiles, but at last The Thousand Year War was done and the Dragon Kings were destroyed or driven from the land. Is Barbarians of Lemuria suitable for campaign play? BoL is kind of barebones as it is, there’s not much left to trim.
Base DC of 9? This sounds like a good game. Honestly, though, I wouldn’t. BoL is not intentionally designed as Burning Wheel Extra Lite, but if that’s something a person wanted it to be it wouldn’t take much work.

My thanks to Baebarians Washbourne for creating this modern rules light design classic. It’s absolutely my go-to system for teaching new players. The players are bringing that to the table, not the game. It’s not an ‘opinion’. They aren’t that obnoxious and they fit the genre the game is for perfectly.
I remember a lot of “Oh, Ok then” moments during the game.
