Although I adored and voraciously read the other Highlander books by Karen Marie Moning, Into the Dreaming was a welcome change from the standard formula. Should the creatures enter the dreaminv bars of what passed for light in the terrible place, they would die, painfully and slowly. Jane knows he’s real, and one day, she’s sent a tapestry with his likeness woven into it, and when she holds it out, she’s taken to Mooning. This version with all the bonus material was so worth the wait and it was great to visit this world that I love so much!!


I guess my reaction is harsh because it is one karej my favorites of her highlander series. Plus I was really pissed when the female lead said th Well Aedan MacKinnon would still be mortal at the end of his captivity but no longer remotely human when released. I found Into The Dreaming a good read and true to form.

This is just a short story, but it’s dreamy enough to hold my attention. Alternate beginning to one of the other Highlander novels. There is no other man for her, so she can hardly believe it when she finds his likeness on a beautifully woven tapestry.

She also gives the story line for Ghost of a Chance, with no mention of a expected release date. Anyways, what I thought. Into the Dreaming, the short story, is not connected in story arc to any of the highlander books and many fans read it last — dreaing having finished Spell of a Highlander.
